People often ask me why I would donate eggs, whether I am afraid, and or if it’s about the compensation. I tell them when you have done it as often as I have, none of those things matter, the fear dissipates everytime you encounter and interact with the people who are part of the process, from the agency (especially Jenny) to the clinic staff, and the doctors who make sure you are taken care of and treat you with immense kindness. The compensation is inconsequential, when you consider that you get to give someone an incredible gift, and even though they can’t thank you themselves, they will always be grateful and blessed. So thats why I do it, knowing that two strangers can create a miracle and that science is a profound gift to us all. I’ve been a donor for the past 7 years and have never hesitated when called upon, it has been an honour and even though it’s not easy and the process is long, the outcome and possible success is always the take home.
